LJMU Health and Wellbeing Strategy
As Feel Fab Feb activities comes to an end over the next week, our Executive Leadership Team is highlighting the importance of health and wellbeing at LJMU, with the relaunch of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
Our Health and Wellbeing Strategy
LJMU’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy is built on the ‘three Ps’: prevention of avoidable illness, health protection and promotion of wellbeing resilience.
LJMU’s vision when it comes to health and wellbeing is to ensure that the university is a place that helps all staff and students to flourish and thrive, maintaining their health and wellbeing by making the right, well informed choices, with a supportive and positive culture at the university that empowers, supports and encourages self-care and resilience.
Raphaela Kane, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Health, said:
“How we feel and how we perform at work is so directly related to our health and wellbeing.”
“The health and wellbeing of our staff matters so much to our students. We want them to be taught by individuals that are flourishing and thriving which in turn creates a healthier environment across the LJMU community and a more positive student experience.
“It’s so important for both staff and students to understand what it is to be healthy, how to maintain that health and what to do or where to go if they need support.”
Executive Leadership Team prioritising wellbeing
As part of the relaunch, and February’s ongoing activities to prioritise mental and physical health, members of the Executive Leadership Team attended the Faculty of Health’s simulation suites, to prioritise their own wellbeing and look at the wealth of initiatives going on across campus.
Activities included health checks, hearing from LJMU’s Men’s Mental Health Podcast, the LJMU Book Club, Knife Savers and more.
Further wellbeing activities and support
The university will be rolling out more health and wellbeing initiatives this semester for staff and students to prioritise their own health and wellbeing.
