Research Data Repository has a fresh new look and search functions

The LJMU Research Data Repository has been given a fresh new look.

The Research Engagement Team within Library Services wanted to highlight the amazing history and culture of LJMU and embrace a new personal style, as you will see from the repository’s new landing page which is now live.

As well as a visual difference, the new advanced search functions can also be utilised. You can now find open access data already submitted by LJMU researchers as well as an entirely new function to search by year, division, field of research, author, data type and funder. With this advanced system, anyone can search with a simple click.

Researchers can now effortlessly navigate through scientific readings, interview transcripts and questionnaire results, among other data types. This comprehensive search functionality ensures that researchers can quickly find the specific data they require, saving valuable time and effort.

As the demand for robust data management continues to rise, the improvements to LJMU’s Research Data Repository will help to streamline our data organisation, accessibility, and sharing. Researchers can focus more effectively on their work, driving breakthroughs in knowledge and accelerating the pace of scientific discovery.

As part of our commitment to effective data management, researchers are encouraged to collect and organise their data throughout the course of their project. Recognising the importance of data accessibility beyond project completion, the integration of advanced search functions guarantees that researchers can easily access and retrieve their data at any point in the research process. This not only facilitates ongoing open research but also allows for data sharing and collaboration with other colleagues in the field.

In line with the principles of open access and data sharing, the LJMU Research Data Repository serves as the institutional repository at the forefront of this data management initiative. By using the repository's secure platform, researchers can deposit and store their research data, making it openly accessible to the wider scientific community. This accessibility ensures that valuable data is not confined but becomes an invaluable resource for researchers to build upon and generate new insights.

To explore the potential of these new features, visit the LJMU Research Data Repository and embark on a data management journey that promotes collaboration, transparency, and innovation.
