In memoriam: Bob Askwith

The university is deeply saddened by the death of our colleague Dr Bob Askwith.

Originally from Leeds, Bob started at LJMU in 1992 as a student in Software Engineering. During his time on the course he met his future wife, Sarah, who was also a student at LJMU.

He started his PhD at LJMU in 1996 and became a member of academic staff in 1999, forging strong friendships with colleagues. Bob progressed to become programme leader and eventually subject leader in Computer Security in 2010.

Bob had a keen interest in dance music and enjoyed his extensive vinyl and CD collection as well going to gigs with Sarah on regular basis. He was also a keen fan of Liverpool FC.

Bob was a popular and well respected colleague to those in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics. His focus on supporting students was well recognised and he will be greatly missed by work colleagues and students alike.
