New Teaching and Learning Academy policies

The Teaching and Learning Academy has developed two new policies, which have been added to the policy centre following approval by the Academic Board.

Peer Exchange to Support Reflection on Academic Practice

This policy has been developed to facilitate reflection on academic practice through collaborative peer review of teaching. Peer Exchange will enable individuals and teams to reflect on their practice guided by scholarly discussions with colleagues. It is a standard expectation for all teaching staff to engage with the process annually.

Direct Observation of Teaching Policy

This policy has been developed to provide LJMU teaching staff with feedback on their practice from trained and experienced observers. Distinct from peer exchange, the direct observation process will focus on providing support for development and identifying areas for practice improvement and will be initiated at the request of the individual lecturer or line manager.

Accessing LJMU policies

Policies can be accessed via the LJMU Policy Centre and staff can use the search function, using the name of the policy, to access the relevant document.

If you have any issues accessing the policies, please do not hesitate to email the policies inbox for further support.
