Staff leadership course: apply for CPD accredited Calibre Programme

Calibre Programme for staff who identify as neurodiverse or disabled

Applications are now open for the Calibre Programme, a CPD accredited development and leadership programme for people who identify as neurodiverse, deaf or disabled, or who have a long-term physical or mental health condition.

Open to both academic and professional services staff, the programme aims to transform how university employees think about themselves and their disability, increasing confidence and showing participants how to approach any discussion about disability in new and constructive ways.

The programme will be delivered by Dr Ossie Stuart, who himself is an academic and identifies as a disabled person.

When does the Calibre Programme begin?

The programme’s five face-to-face sessions will be delivered over the autumn semester of 2024, beginning on Wednesday 23 October.

Key programme dates and themes for the sessions are:

Wednesday 23 October: Introduction to Calibre; what is disability?

Wednesday 6 November: Actors not victims; leadership and disability

Wednesday 20 November: Disability and Law; our rights and responsibilities at your NHS Trust

Wednesday 27 November: Building Confidence; personal project design

Wednesday 11 December: Building Confidence; personal project design
