Paid Discovery Internships for L5 and L6 students

Internship applications open on Monday 16 September - sign up with Unitemps to apply

LJMU is offering our second and final year students (level 5 and 6) the opportunity to apply for a paid 'Discovery Internship' that can support you in enhancing your employability skills, career insight and expanding your professional network. You are paid a living wage for the internship, which can be completed part-time alongside your studies.  These 100-hour internships offer the opportunity to work on a real-life project that you can really get stuck into.

You must be registered with Unitemps to apply

Discovery Internships are sourced by the LJMU Student Futures team and are advertised via Unitemps, LJMU's own recruitment agency.  You must be registered with LJMU's Unitemps branch to apply. Eligible students can apply for a maximum of three internships.

Once launched, you can check out all of the Discovery Internship opportunities that are available on the Unitemps jobs board.

Internship timeline (subject to change)

  • Applications open: Monday 16 September
  • Application close: midnight on Friday 4 October
  • Interviews with host organisation: to take place before Friday 25 October
  • Start date: from the week beginning Monday 28 October (this may vary depending on the role)

If you are successful in securing an internship, your working pattern will be agreed with the host organisation, but the 100 hours must be completed no later than Friday 20 December 2024.

Two further cohorts of Discovery Internships will be available during the coming academic year; the next will launch in mid-December and final cohort in early spring 2025.
