Wattbikes available for staff purchase

Fourteen second-hand smart indoor bike trainers, manufactured by Wattbike (2015), are now available for staff purchase from the LJMU Faculty of Science.

Wattbikes are well-regarded training bikes and are a favourite of professional sports people and amateurs alike. For detailed information about the bikes and their functionality, please visit the Wattbike website.  

Each Wattbike is available to purchase for £180 (inclusive of VAT) and the proceeds will be invested back into the university.

The process for purchasing a Wattbike is as follows:

• Interested staff members should email Dean Morrey stating that they wish to purchase a Wattbike for the price of £180 - staff members may only purchase one Wattbike each
• The Wattbikes will be sold on a first come, first served basis and a reserve list will be created in the order in which the requests are received
• The Faculty of Science will send a confirmation email to all successful staff members within 48 hours of their successful purchase request
• Staff members will then have 7 days to collect and purchase the bike, failing which the bike will be released to the next staff member on the reserve list
• Successful staff members will have the opportunity to inspect the Wattbike prior to making payment
• Following payment, the successful staff member will be responsible for removing the Wattbike from LJMU’s premises
