Updated Space Management Policy
Following approval by ELT, the Space Management Policy has been updated and added to the policy centre.
The Space Management Policy has been developed to underpin the safe, sustainable and efficient occupancy and use of our internal and external spaces.
The policy is intended to support the provision of a suitable environment for the university’s activities, outlining the governance of the management and allocation of space; optimising space usage to reduce costs and provide measurable financial benefits; and reducing our environmental impact and carbon footprint to minimise our impact on the climate and operate ethically to achieve environmental sustainability.
The Space Management Policy supports the delivery of our Strategy 2030, especially the LJMU Education and Experience Plan, Climate Action Plan and the Estates Plan with priority identified in the Digital and Physical Infrastructure enabler ‘to develop a flexible, accessible, and sustainable estate aligned with our patterns of academic delivery and hybrid working, and the imperative of reducing our carbon emissions’.
Further resources are available on the dedicated Estate Development and Campus Services webpages.
