New staff profile system now live

LJMU Profiles

LJMU Profiles, (opens in a new tab) the university’s new staff profile system has gone live on LJMU’s website showcasing our staff community and university expertise.

All staff, PGRs and professional doctorate students can have a public profile and LJMU staff are being encouraged to update their profile by providing a profile photo and professional biography, information about research interests, professional achievements, teaching activities, and impact activities, and links to research publications and online media.

The updated LJMU Profiles system will not only allow collaboration across the university but highlights individuals’ areas of expertise and research to external audiences and partners.

Staff can update their profile using the guidance on the Research Excellence webpages.

About the new staff profile system

LJMU Profiles is a dynamic and user-friendly platform that enables our communities and partners to discover our expertise and learn about our research and teaching. It was introduced this April 2025 to replace our previous staff profile system.

LJMU Profiles uses the Symplectic Discovery platform which is the front-facing interface displaying information from Symplectic Elements research system.

LJMU Profiles has been submitted to Google, which will make the site accessible through the search engine shortly. Our internal traffic will drive it up the search rankings quickly.
