Are you looking for a job that's a bit unconventional? Not really suited to 9 to 5 office work? Our new series of features introduces LJMU alumni who've chosen a career that's off the beaten track.

For the first in our series, we chat with BBC Radio Merseyside presenter and LJMU alumna, Ngunan Adamu. You'll hear Ngunan every Sunday night presenting the Upfront Show, a magazine show playing music and covering a range of topics for Merseyside's black community.

Considering radio wasn't on her radar, Ngunan has done amazingly well since completing her degree in Journalism at LJMU. Not only is she a BBC presenter but she's the founder of iWoman, a programme which helps unemployed women in the region develop the skills and confidence to get into media. She's also been involved in training other journalists for the BBC World Service and has worked on the BBC School Report programme (now known as BBC Young Reporter).
