I am currently studying on the Doctor of Education IEdD) programme at LJMU. I am 18 months in to the programme and studying part-time whilst working as a senior leader in secondary education.
As a senior leadership experience spans 15 years in education. In this time, I have held the roles of Assistant Headteacher for Curriculum and Assessment, Deputy Headteacher for Standards, Deputy Headteacher for the Quality of Education and Acting Headteacher within a multi-academy trust. Through these positions I have been instrumental in developing school strategy and associated policies. I have used school self-evaluation and school improvement planning as a vehicle for organisational change. I am experienced in financial and resource management, data analysis, performance management, curriculum management, staffing and timetabling. I have a proven track record of improving school attainment and progress outcomes in the secondary phase through marginal gains strategies to drive up the school headline measures.
As a teacher in secondary education my experience is wide ranging from Key Stage 2 primary transition to post-16 further education. At Key Stage 3 I have delivered a board range of subjects which include Design and Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, Art, and PE. At Key Stage 4 I have delivered syllabuses and been an external AQA examiner for Design Technology, Information Technology and iMedia. My post 16 experience is in lecturing in Media and Information Technology.
