Having served twenty years with Merseyside Police in numerous operational roles, I retired with a combination of police and military service.
During my police service, I specialised in Counter Terrorism and general search delivery, this included high risk crime and missing person search. This also complimented my work within Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear contingency. This work required joint working with many Multi Agency Partners; this sparked my research interest in Joint Emergency Service Interoperability (JESIP).
In Merseyside, I led the work to form the Multi Agency Specialist Assessment Team. The team has gone on to provide specialist cover for daily operational work, and as a contingency for many major events.
I Joined LJMU in late 2021 as a lecturer at the Liverpool Centre of Advanced Police Studies. I have supported the development and delivery of the PEQF programs. I am the second year lead for the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship. I am also a member of the LJMU, Armed Forces Steering Group supporting LJMU’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.
I am looking forward to developing further research interests in both Policing and pedagogical areas.
