Dr. Amr Sourani is a Senior Lecturer in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying. He worked briefly as a structural engineer for an engineering consultancy and worked for three years as a site engineer for a construction contracting company. Amr has a BSc in Civil Engineering, MSc in Engineering Project Management (with Distinction) from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology which awarded him the MSc Course Prize in Engineering Project Management and a PhD from Loughborough University. In 2007, Dr. Sourani Joined Liverpool John Moores University as a Senior Lecturer in Construction Management. Dr. Sourani has published papers in international refereed conferences and journals and is also a referee for a number of these, including “Construction Management and Economics”, “Journal of Engineering, Design and Technology”, “Proceedings of ICE - Engineering Sustainability”, “Proceedings of ICE – Management, Procurement and Law”, and “International Journal of Professional Education and Practice”. Dr. Sourani’s main expertise and interests are in the areas of construction management, sustainable construction and sustainable procurement.
