With over 20 years’ experience as a nurse working in both acute care, governance and education I have acquired skills in coaching, communication, leadership, management and education to support people in achieving their potential. My academic qualifications support my drive and desire to support both pre and post registrants in the development of their clinical skills, decision making, team working, leadership and management to effectively deliver safe and effective care. The use of simulation-based education provides me with the ability to develop educational strategies to support individuals in building real world skills. I have previously developed and implemented the strategy for simulation- based education across the portfolio of programmes delivered cross faculty. This has been in response to advances in technology and the rapid increase in the recognition and utilisation of simulation-based education to develop high performing professionals. The result has been the recognition of enhancement in teaching through innovative teaching, including app-based support for student learning using technology including mobile, desktop and VR/AR.
