Ella is currently pursing an MPhil in Sports & Exercise Science with Liverpool John Moore's University. She graduated from The University of Chester in 2023 with a BSc degree in Sports & Exercise Science The main title for her current project is researching novel training practices in elite match officials. Central areas of focus are elite match officials specifically in various rugby codes with two years of applied work in
rugby league. Research in elite performance sport and conditioning are additional research topics of her interest.

Ella concurrently works in the match officials department in The Rugby Football League as a sports scientist. She uses a testing framework throughout the year alongside GPS data analysis to practically apply research to develop elite match officials.
