John is a Leadership and Development Adviser at LJMU and completed his undergraduate degree in Law and his master's degree in Personnel and Development at the University. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), a Fellow of the Association of University Administrators (AUA) and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

A career within higher education has taken in leadership, non-managerial and sessional lecture roles.  John has enjoyed working with students, staff and businesses and engaging with organisations such as the AUA and the National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES).

John is married with three children, likes to spend time seeing new parts of the world, is an enthusiastic 5-a-side footballer and enjoys running.
