With the start of the new academic year fast approaching there are some key changes that I think it is important you are aware of. You may have seen this information via email over the summer, I hope it is a timely reminder.

Key information

There is now a Key Information section in each Canvas course. This Key Information is intended to replace the module handbook. The section gives students easy access to clear and consistent information about the modules they are studying. See further information about the Key Information section.

Zoom

Zoom has been added to each canvas course (again available via the left hand menu), this will make it easier to manage the live sessions and recordings. All teaching staff should have received an email prompting to register your Zoom account.
Zoom has been licensed by the university for teaching and learning activities only.

Zoom training sessions can be booked via the Staff Training Events page.

Induction

New students are starting to register online, once they have completed the process they will have access to all LJMU sites and services.

MyLJMU

As part of induction new students will have access to the MyLJMU site, this contains the My Programme Documents section, here they will be able to access programme related documents (such as the Programme Guide). Programme documents can be added to this section by uploading them to the relevant programme folder via SharePoint.

Programme Induction sites

All programmes now have the option to use a Canvas induction site. Students are added to these sites upon completing online registration. If staff decide to use the sites they can be published at the start of induction week or earlier if you want to connect with newly registered students immediately.
