1. 16 days of activism across Liverpool to end gender-based violence

   The UNITE to End Violence against Women initiative is an effort to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world. Find out what's happening across Liverpool.

2. The Notion of Becoming

   Liverpool John Moores University taught me that the PhD experience was about reflecting on the notion of becoming. To make sense continuously of what I should, could or need to pursue at any given point. The importance of being creative, accepting mistakes and remaining imaginative were reinforced through my experience at Liverpool John Moores University. A place that taught me to think about the purpose of my work and the reasons that underpinned my ideas. The PhD experience was four years but the positive affect of Liverpool John Moores University will continue.

3. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

6. Public arts visionary leads lecture at Liverpool School of Art and Design

   LJMU welcomed Helen Marriage, the Co-founder and Director of Artichoke arts production company, to its first Luminary Lecture of 2022.

7. Islamophobia Awareness Month

   November is the start of Islamophobia Awareness Month, and this year also marks 10 years of the awareness campaign, which showcases the positive contributions made to society, by Muslims, as well as raising awareness of Islamophobia in society.

8. Bronze award for support of the Armed Forces

   LJMU has received the bronze award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) acknowledging how we provide support to the Armed Forces community.
