3. New human evolution gallery at the World Museum Liverpool opened with a bang!

   Discover the intertwined history of our species. A new free gallery officially opened at the World Museum Liverpool on 6th September 2019. The opening was marked by a family event: Human Evolution Festival, but the gallery is now open to the public and an activity trail will be available soon. Where do we come from? What makes us human? These fundamental mysteries have shaped the study of human origins for centuries. Trace our species’ evolution from the first upright primate through to modern humans.

4. Politicians and teachers have the power to change the world if they can learn to work together

   Baroness of Yardley Estelle Morris discussed the relationship between education and politics as the latest guest speaker in the LJMU Roscoe lecture series.

5. First day of 2015 graduation ceremonies

   Monday 13 July saw the first of the 2015 LJMU graduation ceremonies take place at Liverpool Cathedral

6. World record attempt for fastest human powered vehicle

   Sports scientists from Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Liverpool and Liverpool Hope University have helped to select riders to take on the World Human Power Speed Challenge, due to take place in September 2015.

7. Global Centre for Maritime Innovation

   Liverpool John Moores University is to bring together its world-leading maritime education, research and innovation through a new global centre.

8. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

9. Sports Journalism Student wins prestigious NCTJ Award

   MA Sports Journalism Student, Jack Kinsella has won the ‘Best Student Project’ at the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) Awards for Excellence.
