   Liverpool Pride takes place on Saturday 30 July and LJMU are inviting all staff, students and friends to join us at the July event.

2. Black History Month 2021

   It is essential that our university honours significant dates to the Black community. LJMU's Anita Awotunde looks at the history, why it's important and the plans for 2021.

3. Reciprocal Mentoring Programme involving BAME Staff, Black Students and Senior Leaders

   Given the success of last year's pilot, we are running the LJMU Reciprocal Mentoring Programme again and we are extending it to include BAME staff from across the institution. The programme is open to all LJMU Senior Staff from Director Level of non BAME Background and to BAME staff from non-Director Level and to Black Students from all Faculties.

4. Women In Leadership: What Does It Take For Women To Rise To The Top? (Event Invite - 26th Feb 2020)

   After 33 years of service, Julie Lloyd (Executive HR Director at LJMU) retires from the University. Julie is passionate about the progression of women in the workplace and has always advocated for more women in the boardroom - In her talk, Julie will explore the critical issues as to why we are not seeing more women in top positions and offer tips and strategies for overcoming the challenges to womens advancement and career progression.

5. Scheme helps LJMU employ more local people of colour

   A new scheme, Positive Action Training (PAT), helping local people of colour enter employment at LJMU has been launched by the Vice-Chancellor (interim).

6. LJMU joins BBC scheme to boost female representation in the media

   Liverpool John Moores University has teamed up with the BBC to improve gender representation in UK broadcasting.

7. New LJMU Film On Tackling Unconscious Bias

   LJMU's new "Never Judge A Book By Its Cover" film explores three key themes; Unconscious Bias, Intercultural Competence and Micro-Aggressions
