  7. A better deal for renters

    The aim of this study is to gain an understanding of tenants’ experiences and attitudes to how the private rented sector in England is regulated and how the sector could be improved to create a fairer rental market.

  8. Jane Williams (1898 - c. 2016)

    Jane was a student at the F.L. Calder College of Domestic Science, one of LJMU’s historic colleges, where she qualified as a teacher. She went on to teach at schools in Wales thanks to a personal reference from Fanny Calder herself. Records from her life help to tell the significant history of LJMU as an institution that supports the training of teachers, always placing importance on providing education for all. The records are held within LJMU’s Special Collections and Archives.

  9. Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale MBE

    Denise is a prominent woman in sport, previously holding roles at Everton Football Club and the club’s official charity, Everton in the Community. She gained her PhD at LJMU, is an Honorary Fellow and took part in the 24th series of our Roscoe Lectures in 2021.
