   Dr Matt McLain from the School of Education attended the event in Shenzhen, China.

4. Empowering staff to support PGRs from racially minoritised groups

   Academic and professional services staff who support PGRs have a bespoke training and development opportunity designed by the educational charity Grit Breakthrough. Using a coaching approach to support PGRs is a two-day online coaching workshop, which will run across two days in November.

5. How can staff enhance the student experience? ‘Make every contact count’

   More than 120 staff from across the university attended an engagement workshop on prioritising the student experience.

7. Training police to the highest standards

   LJMU continues to impact the quality of police training in England and Wales with a new partnership to co-deliver a Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice.

8. Chief Constable delivers Spring Lecture at LJMU

   Chief Constable Craig Guildford of West Midlands Police delivered his spring lecture at LJMU last week. The lecture titled Turning the Tanker: Reflections on 18 Months as Chief Constable of West Midlands Police was held in the Redmonds Building and saw Chief Constable Guildford share his strategic initiatives, and thoughts on the importance of community engagement, and the future direction of the force.

9. Merseyside researchers ask what do your eyebrows say about you?

   Scousebrow or powerbrow? Pluck, pencil, thread or wax? Researchers at LJMU and the University of Liverpool want to hear about your relationship with your eyebrows at a special Brews & Brows event hosted by FACT.
