5. LJMU signs up to the University Mental Health Charter

   Over 60 universities across the country have signed up to be part of the Student Minds’ University Mental Health Charter Framework to support universities across the UK in making mental health a university-wide priority.

6. Flood resilience expert leads research with vulnerable communities in Cumbria

   Britain is no stranger to wet weather, and with climate predictions forecasting more extreme weather events, experts at LJMU are working with vulnerable communities to help them prepare for future instances of flooding.

7. First Step Spring Internships available for Level 4 students

   A new pilot internship programme for first year students (level 4 only) with little to no previous work experience launched on Monday 15 January and close at midnight on Sunday 4 February. There will be no interview process for these opportunities, the Student Futures team will undertake a matching process between participating organisations and students. The internships will begin on Monday 4 March (start dates may vary for each role).

8. Times Higher Award shortlisting for ‘star-shattering’ research project

   New technology using Artificial Intelligence alongside the famous Liverpool Telescope (LT), has been shortlisted for a Times Higher Education Award for Research Project of the Year 2017.
