   It is with great sadness that the University announces the death of Sir Bert Massie CBE DL .

2. Celebrating Cultures Event

   The celebrating cultures event this year had India, China, Canada, Pakistan, Colombia, Nepal, England, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lesotho, Scotland, Vietnam, Nigeria, Indonesia, Greece, Italy, Bangladesh, Switzerland, Iran, Somalia and Brazil being represented. Following this event, an international student wrote a reflection on their experience in participating.

3. International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) – 17th May 2021

   International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) aims to raise awareness of discrimination and violence against people within the LGBTIQ+ community, to drive positive change.

4. Training for managers: disabilities and long-term health conditions, including mental health

   LJMU’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with coaching and training specialists; Result CIC (Community Interest Company) and are pleased to offer LJMU Managers, Programme Leaders and Personal Tutors (those directly responsible for staff/students) the opportunity to participate in a half day Training for Managers of Staff with Disabilities & Long-Term Health Conditions Including Mental Health, workshop.

5. Honorary Fellow Jane Cordell

   Liverpool John Moores University awards Honorary Fellowship to Jane Cordell at Liverpool Cathedral on Wednesday 11 July 2018.

   World will have more obese children and adolescents than underweight by 2022

7. School of Humanities and Social Sciences create Craft Club for student wellbeing

   The department of Media, Culture, Communication in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences has established a new initiative to create space for students to socialise and support their wellbeing.

8. International Pronouns Day

   International Pronouns Day seeks to make respecting, sharing and educating about personal pronouns common practice.

9. New Diversity and Inclusion Policy

   The D&I Team has developed the Transgender and Non-Binary Policy for staff and students, with accompanying guidance.

10. Students at the Heart Conference 2024: submissions now open

    Submissions are now open for the Students at the Heart Conference and the theme for 2024 will be ‘community.’
