2. European Journalism Training Association Teachers' conference

   The university’s Journalism Department is hosting the European Journalism Training Association teachers’ conference, where teaching of sports, society and specialist journalism will be discussed by educators from across the continent.

3. Sharing Practice – Screencasts and role-play to support distance taught students

   For six years this faculty has been running a distance taught programme in Athens which straddles the two notions of distance and face to face teaching.

4. Dr Elizabeth Malone

   Elizabeth is the Head of Primary Programmes within the School of Education, and her own career in teaching brought her to work at the university. In 2023, she won a JMSU Student Experience Award, after being nominated as an outstanding teacher with students praising her for her support, empathy, and enthusiasm in all that she does.

5. PESSPA membership

   The LJMU Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity Network aims to connect PE teachers and sport coaches working in schools with staff and students across the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences programmes.

6. Paul Killen

   Paul celebrated his 25th anniversary of working at LJMU in 2023, our Bicentenary year, and in 2024 will reach a marvellous milestone of 40 years working in education and will retire from the profession.

8. Dr Susanne Zajitschek

   Dr Susanne Zajitschek is a rising star within our School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, having been recognised for her impact on the student learning experience and her leadership potential in teaching and learning. Joining at the onset of the pandemic in 2020, Susanne has made a big impact at LJMU in just a short period of time.

9. Criminal Justice - School of Justice Studies

   Our Criminology degree programme at LJMU takes our students on a thought provoking and engaging critical exploration of the institutions which make up the criminal justice system.
