  4. Maritime careers – Maritime SuperSkills

    A career in the maritime industry can extend onshore into vital shore-based ship management roles and a whole host of other related jobs. Some of these include ship superintendent, ports services and management, marine surveyor and ship broker.

  5. Postgraduate study with LOOM

    LOOM is accepting PhD applicants who wish to carry out research into the design and operation of large engineering systems, as well as research on operational research, including simulation, optimisation and evolutionary computation.   6. Jamie Christon DL

    Jamie Christon is the Chief Executive of Chester Zoo and was chosen as one of 10 new honorary fellows during LJMU’s Bicentenary year. The honour reflects his work driving forward conservation at the zoo, preventing extinction in a changing world, and working collaboratively with organisations, partners, and visitors.

    Expertise within the Centre for Natural Products Discovery include: Natural Products synthesis, analysis, Pharmacology, formation and delivery, toxicology. Phytochemistry and Phytotherapy, Microbial Natural Products and Nutraceuticals Functional foods.

  10. Pete Dolan

    Pete is the Outreach Manager at LJMU, responsible for building relationships with schools and colleges and for delivering the university’s sustained widening access initiatives, targeting under-represented learners and disadvantaged communities. In 2023 he celebrated 25 years of working at LJMU.
