4. Public Health institute (PHI) host the European Federation of Environmental Health (EFEH)

   Public Health institute (PHI) host the European Federation of Environmental Health (EFEH) a regional branch of the International Federation of Environmental Health, which seeks to a provide means for exchanging information and experience on environmental health works to promote co-operation between countries

5. TRANSPEER in Lisbon

   The Portugal-leg of TRANSPEER, the international researcher development programme, has taken place in Lisbon.​​​​​​​

6. Sport and Exercise Science education adds £3.9 billion income to the UK economy

   Results of a new report show that Sport and Exercise Science courses added £3.9 billion in income to the UK economy, with average salaries for SES graduates after six months of employment at £21,100 per annum. Over the course of their careers, SES graduates earn on average £667,000 more compared to their non-graduate peers.

7. City remembers disability rights hero and LJMU Honorary Fellow

   Sir Bert was a leading disability rights activist and was awarded his Honorary Fellowship at LJMU in 2002 for services to equality and promoting the rights of disabled people. He also served as a Governor of the university for nine years.

8. Sport and Exercise Science study highlights the health benefits of a Home-HIT routine

   A new study investigating a home-based, high-intensity interval training regimen was recently carried out by LJMU’s Research Institute for Sport and Exercise Sciences and has now been published in The Journal of Physiology.

9. PHI continues status as WHO Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention

   World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that LJMU’s Public Health Institute (PHI) will continue to be recognised as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention.

10. Maritime SuperSkills Project

    Event to celebrate the successful completion of the project at the Maritime Museum, Royal Albert Dock on 13th June 2019. Attended by Iain McKinnon, Secretary Maritime Skills Alliance, local and national employers and LJMU staff who have helped with the project.
