More than 150 primary school children from across the North West came to LJMU to take part in an innovative, hands-on experience, entitled ‘Art at the heart of STEM.’

The STEAM event saw school pupils aged seven to 11 engaged in creative activities relating to the theme of ‘a river of light’ and they were also asked to use the artwork of famous artist, Keith Haring, as their inspiration.

Helping the children with their designs were LJMU students from the School of Art and Design and the School of Education.

The event was also supported by Liverpool Screen School and the university’s Outreach team.
