5. Athena SWAN Workshop: Understanding Data & Top Tips

   In support of gender-equality and the several departments considering applying for their Athena SWAN Bronze/Silver Awards here at LJMU, this Athena SWAN Workshop: Understanding Data and Top Tips has been arranged in order to provide Departmental Athena SWAN Self-Assessment Teams (SATs) with the opportunity to gain some practical knowledge in relation to the application process.

6. Password protection: keeping it simple

   Keeping our digital data safe is serious. All students and staff should look after their data and privacy online. Strong passwords are an essential defence against unauthorised access to your online accounts. Creating a strong, long, complex password will reduce the potential for a cybercriminal to access your data.

7. How can staff enhance the student experience? ‘Make every contact count’

   More than 120 staff from across the university attended an engagement workshop on prioritising the student experience.

8. Brian May and Sam Davys named in New Year Honours List

   LJMU’s Honorary Fellow, Brian May and former JMSU President, Sam Davys, make 2023 Honours List.

9. LJMU becomes accredited Living Wage employer

   LJMU has become the first University in the city and the largest employer in Liverpool to be accredited as a Living Wage employer.

10. LJMU supports Hong Kong Community with Progression to HE Opportunities

    LJMU’s Outreach Team has continued their work with the Hong Kong community based in Warrington. The team held an event last week to support the community and share access to Higher Educations options, within the region.
