  2. Environment and sustainability

    At the Public Health Institute we provide advice to policymakers in consideration of the relationship between the environment and public health. Projects include: the use of parks, climate change, economic benefits of green infrastructure and evaluation of green projects for the community.

  6. Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics

    Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics Research Group is focused on the use of medicines and the delivery of healthcare. Our areas of interest include: evidence-based practice and service delivery in clinical pharmacy, health information needs and supporting safe self-care, and therapeutics.   7. Dex Wright

    Dex is a psychology and criminology student and the founder of JMSU’s Boxing Society. The society has not only brought students together in the world of sport, but has helped to form a community where people are also using boxing to support their mental health.

  9. Lorraine Shaw

    Lorraine Shaw was the Subject Lead for Nursing in the School of Nursing and Allied Health from 2013 until her retirement in 2023. As a registered nurse since 1987, practising in a range of clinical areas, her ties with LJMU began in 1992 when she needed a degree to progress with her career and enrolled with LJMU while continuing to work full-time for the NHS, and later venturing into teaching and management.

  10. Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement

    Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement or ‘PPIE’ has become a wide-spread phenomenon in health and social care research. PPIE is considered the gold standard of research and is typically required by funding bodies (such as the NIHR) to access grant funding.
