1. Scholarships for people of colour on policing course

   Opportunities for people of colour in specialist policing roles including counter-terrorism are being made available thanks to a partnership involving Liverpool John Moores University.

2. Launch of LJMU Innovation Programme

   LJMU is launching a new programme to support staff in developing successful innovation and business concepts.

3. Outreach programme takes pupils to London

   Local school children have visited University College London (UCL) as part of an LJMU widening access programme. Access All Areas is an initiative from LJMU’s Outreach team which arranged the first university exchange for year 11 pupils.

5. Chair and Panel Member Briefing Sessions

   Three in-person sessions are being offered in Exchange Station for academic colleagues who wish to become a Validation/Periodic Programme Review chair or panel member.

6. Designs for inclusion: enhancing doctoral education programme

   Staff can sign-up for the programme delivered across two afternoons, 1pm to 4.30pm on Thursday 9 November and Wednesday 22 November.

   An LJMU student and several LJMU sports experts are behind a cohort of para-athletes who will be going for gold in Rio this week.

9. North West Higher Education Action Learning Programme

   LJMU are offering up to ten places for women working in academic and professional services roles to take part in cross institutional action learning sets with peers from universities in the North West region.

10. International Scholarships awarded to 16 students

    16 students were presented with their international scholarships this week at a reception in the Student Life Building.
