2. LJMU residential for young people

   LJMU Outreach has welcomed young people from 12 schools across the north west region to its annual Year 10 Residential, targeted specifically at those in local authority or residential care.

3. Emma commended at Westminster for widening access in education

   LJMU PhD student and member of the Student Recruitment and Admissions team Emma Smith has received a commendation for her contribution to widening access at a national awards ceremony held in the Palace of Westminster recently.

5. Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week: Support at LJMU

   This week marks the beginning of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week, to encourage survivors to talk about abuse and that #ItIsNotOk

6. New mental wellbeing peer support

   We have a new team in place to help support any member of staff with their mental wellbeing. The LJMU Connectors are on hand to provide peer support and make sure colleagues have access to the appropriate resources and services.

7. Christmas closure and support services over the festive break

   The university will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January. The Student Life Building will be open 24/7 throughout the festive break including on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

8. Silver Social Worker of the Year Award

   An LJMU Social Work student has received national recognition after winning a top prize at the prestigious Social Worker of the Year Awards.

9. Merseyside pupils experience working life at LJMU

   36 students from across 16 schools in Merseyside have taken part in work experience at Liverpool John Moores University over the summer.

10. National award for LJMU libraries

    LJMU’s Library Service has received national recognition for the support it offers to students.
