1. Bicentenary year gets underway

   As our 200th year gets underway, we are excited to celebrate with you, our students and our staff, and there will be opportunities throughout the year for you to get involved.

2. Honorary Fellow Datuk Dr Noel Robert

   Liverpool John Moores University awards Honorary Fellowship to Datuk Dr Noel Robert at Liverpool Cathedral on Tuesday 11 July 2017.

3. Family judge for Cheshire and Merseyside hosts first LAC public debate event

   Her Honour Judge Margaret de Haas QC hosted the first public debate held by LJMU’s Legal Advice Centre, which focused on the legal rights of grandparents.

4. Transatlantic research partnership in the arts

   LJMU’s School of Art and Design has agreed a five-year partnership with Transart Institute in New York City, which will see the two organisations offer a joint transdisciplinary doctoral programme from summer 2020. The aim of the programme is to create an exchange in research areas including contemporary art, art history, curating and exhibition studies, digital culture and technology.

5. LJMU is one of 24 universities with Race Equality Charter Bronze Award

   Liverpool John Moores University has been awarded Bronze status by Advance HE's Race Equality Charter (REC)

6. Wonderful week of Bicentenary year graduation ceremonies

   Nearly 5,000 students and 65 members of staff officially graduated this week across 14 joyous ceremonies at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral. The graduates will go down in LJMU history, picking up their accolades in the university’s 200th year.

7. Academic Registry Roadshows February and March

   The Student Governance Team will deliver the next roadshow on Friday 24 February, Redmonds Building 2.33 and Registry Services will deliver a session on Tuesday 7 March, SLB 3.02.
