4. The First British Astronaut - Helen Sharman CMG OBE Is Coming To LJMU!

   On 17th March 2021 Helen Sharman, the first British person in Space and first British Astronaut will give a talk at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Helen will be speaking about her life and career as a scientist and as the first British astronaut.

5. Education students gain experience and insight through placements in Thailand

   For the past eight years students from the LJMU BA Education and BA Early Childhood Studies programmes have had the opportunity to undertake international placements thanks to a partnership with Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok, Thailand.

6. LJMU leads partnership with technology hub to support and innovate region’s businesses

   LJMU received a £2m government grant to help SMEs, and has used the funding to partner with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) to help transform regional industry through the use of a new Business Launch Centre (MTC@LJMU) based at LJMU’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

   LJMU is to set out ambitious proposals to transform our campuses over the next eight years, with a focus on students and sustainability.

8. Liverpool and Togo to forge vital links

   The Ambassador of Togo visited LJMU recently to establish academic, research and business links between LJMU and Liverpool city region and the Universities and businesses in Togo.

9. Nearly £3k raised in first week of NSS

   A huge thank you to everyone who has helped us to raise a fantastic £2,950 for charity by completing the National Student Survey (NSS) in the first week.

    LJMUs Faculty of Engineering and Technology plays host to the major players in the housing and construction industry on January 19-21.
