1. Our LJMU community celebrating Ramadan

   Ramadan begins on 2 April and our LJMU Equality team is sharing the support available for those celebrating plus their advice on how our LJMU community can help students and staff who may be fasting.

2. Ethnically diverse and Ethnic minority to substitute the BAME Acronym across LJMU

   Following a university wide survey and subsequent focus groups, ethnically diverse or ethnic minority are to replace the use of BAME across the university.

3. Journalism programmes receive NCTJ award for equality, diversity and inclusion

   The award recognises LJMU’s work on diversity and inclusion including the creation of a Diversity Reporting Guide and a planned Diversity in Journalism Teaching symposium.

4. Milky Way research earns Parliament invite

   Early-career researcher Hannah Dalgleish was invited to Parliament after making a new discovery about the Milky Way.

5. Framework for Academic Quality and Standards Policy update

   This staff policy has had a minor amendment.

6. Joasia Krysa to curate Helsinki Biennial

   "Her interest in technology and digital art respond to the pertinent issues of our time"

7. Provide peer-to-peer wellbeing support

   LJMU Connectors provide peer-to-peer mental wellbeing support to colleagues, at a local level, across the university.

8. Empower Programme for students on the Autism spectrum

   The NHS Merseyside Health Sector Career and Engagement Hub is running the Empower programme - a pre-employment transition workshop for second and final year LJMU students on the Autism spectrum.

9. Media students' climb to the top

   Three Liverpool Screen School students have won £2,000 in a competition run by leading motoring magazine, Influx Magazine.

10. Thesis Boot Camp

    PGRs attended 2 day residential writing event, at Gladstone's Library in Wales.
