2. British Academy backs research into COVID policing

   Following the tragic killing of George Floyd in America, questions of police legitimacy and police malpractice are being debated internationally.

3. Let’s Talk About Race Equality (Debating White Privilege, Micro-Aggressions, Allyship & Active Bystanders)

   The 2020 Black Lives Matter movement, reignited conversations on the subject of race equality, across the globe - The need for positive culture change was at the forefront of those discussions. This workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to address race equality at LJMU and understand the importance of ally-ship.

4. January exams: training for invigilators

   In anticipation of the January examination period, Academic Registry will be holding invigilation training sessions for LJMU staff throughout December.

5. Transgender Awareness Workshops (2019/20)

   LJMU are proud to be working in partnership with Subject Matter Expert; GenderSpace and are pleased to offer LJMU Staff the opportunity to participate in a half day, Transgender Awareness Workshop.

   LJMU's Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team are proud to be working in partnership with Subject Matter Expert; GenderSpace and are pleased to offer LJMU/JMSU Staff the opportunity to participate in a virtual, half day (three hour) Transgender Awareness Workshop.

7. Athena SWAN Workshop: Understanding Data & Top Tips

   In support of gender-equality and the several departments considering applying for their Athena SWAN Bronze/Silver Awards here at LJMU, this Athena SWAN Workshop: Understanding Data and Top Tips has been arranged in order to provide Departmental Athena SWAN Self-Assessment Teams (SATs) with the opportunity to gain some practical knowledge in relation to the application process.

8. Senior Lecturer secures BA Skills Innovator Award

   Senior Lecturer in Humanities and Social Science, Dr Ojo Adegbola, has won a coveted British Academy Skills Innovator Award.
