2. Sport science students make an impact with nearly 15,000 hours of placements

   From community sports clubs that support people with special educational needs to premier league football clubs, 173 students have undertaken 14,730 hours of work-based placements this academic year.

5. MA Art in Science students present at World Museum Liverpool

   Art in Science master’s students from Liverpool School of Art & Design have recently collaborated with World Museum Liverpool curators to present ‘A New View: Silica’; a temporary exhibit in the museum foyer’s display case.

6. Working in partnership to deliver transgender workshop

   LJMU, in partnership with the Gender Identity Research and Education Society (GIRES), welcomed staff, students and community representatives to an engaging, interactive transgender workshop recently.

7. LJMU and Merseyside Police Embark on Joint Venture

   Liverpool John Moores University and Merseyside Police have agreed a project to assess the feasibility of a Joint Academy. The University and the force have been working together for the past ten years to strengthen ties between academic study and policing.

8. £20m project to launch first large electric ships

   LJMU joins a consortium with Bibby Marine, Port of Aberdeen, Shell, ORE Catapult, DNV and Kongsberg funded by Department of Transport

9. Major new study into impacts of COVID-19 on children

   A major study has been launched to learn more about the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

10. FactLab role in Lever Prize 2016

    The prestigious Lever Prize 2016 has been won by the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) for a joint project with FACT, involving FACTLab, a collaboration between FACT and LJMU, which explores the interaction between arts and science.
