LJMU is committed to creating peaceful and inclusive societies. On campus, we support Armed Forces Day and we’re recognised under the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme. Locally, we’ve partnered with the Merseyside Police, raising the standard of policing in Merseyside. Nationally, LJMU AI researchers helped to solve murder case using a deep learning method originally developed for eco-conservation.
The Faces of Merseyside was created and presented by Face Lab. The project shows the average facial images of people in Merseyside based on their occupations and interests.
Within the Nursing Research Group, our health and social care research is helping to transform people's lives for the better. Our expertise includes: technology in healthcare, specific topics relevant to children, young people and families; the outcomes of health and social care education, healthcare delivery, and resilience in modern living. Habi was born in the Gambia but spent most of her formative years in Germany before moving to the UK. She has overcome the obstacles and discrimination that she faced throughout her childhood and teenage years in Germany, to seek out her own opportunities, to educate herself and to work with others to challenge unconscious bias and promote inclusivity.
