1. Young people benefit from LJMU residential

   LJMU Outreach has welcomed 25 young people from 12 schools across the North West to its annual Year 10 residential, targeted specifically at those in local authority or residential care.

   Research which highlights changes to the human body during lockdown and other sedentary situations is having a huge impact among scientists worldwide.

5. Diwali 2019 starts on Sunday 27th October and lasts for five days

   Diwali is the famous festival of lights, when families and friends get together to feast and celebrate. The five day festival begins on Sunday 27th October 2019; each day has its own individual meaning and associated celebration. The third day of Diwali is regarded as the most important day. Diwali literally means a ‘row of Lights’. It is a celebration of light! It is a time filled with light and love. The festival does not follow the Gregorian but rather the Hindu calendar known as ‘Tithi,’ which is a lunar calendar. We would like to wish all our students and staff community who celebrate this festival a very happy Diwali!

6. EFC offer - discounted tickets

   Everton Football Club is once again offering LJMU staff and students discounted tickets to a range of fixtures this season.

8. Tithebarn Street roadworks (from 3 June 2019)

   Please be aware that major roadworks will begin on Tithebarn Street on Monday 3 June.

9. Over 15,000 LJMU students set to graduate this summer

   Liverpool Anglican Cathedral is set to play host to over 4,000 students next week for the first round of LJMU graduation ceremonies taking place this summer
