1. Improvement works at John Foster Building

   Next month (June 2022), we will begin a programme of improvement works to John Foster Building, which means it will be closed for a period over the summer.

   Women still earn around £8,000 less than men in the Liverpool City Region, a new report has identified.

5. Size really does matter! Professor Satya Sarker talks nanomedicine.

   Professor Satya Sarker, Director of the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, has published a new book on nanomedicine. We asked him about advances in this exciting field of science which actually dates back to Asia, 2,500 years ago.

7. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

   A major study has been launched to learn more about the impact of COVID-19 on children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
