1. New ES1 form available for managers

   The Finance team has recently updated the ES1 form used to assess contractors against HMRCs off-payroll working rules (sometimes called IR35).

2. Centre for Educational Research seminar series 2022-23

   Next month, the Centre for Educational Research (CERES) seminar series kicks off with two online events taking place every month from October through to May.

3. Applications open for Research England Policy Support Fund

   LJMU is being allocated funding from the Research England Policy Support Fund (PSF) to support the development of impactful research and engagement activities. Applications of up to £10,000 will be considered and applicants have until 5pm on Monday 10 October 2022 to make a submission.

4. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.

5. Empowering staff to support PGRs from racially minoritised groups

   Academic and professional services staff who support PGRs have a bespoke training and development opportunity designed by the educational charity Grit Breakthrough. Using a coaching approach to support PGRs is a two-day online coaching workshop, which will run across two days in November.

6. Drones to the rescue: wildlife park footage will help save endangered animals

   Scientists at LJMU are capturing the thermal profiles of animals at a local wildlife park in order to help researchers around the world classify and monitor endangered species in the wild.

7. Professorship and Readership Conferment: Call for submissions

   Each year applications are invited for the conferment of Professorships and Readerships and the process for 2020 is now open.

8. Launch of MSc Emergency Care module

   The universitys new and innovative MSc Emergency Care module has been well received, with more than 200 stakeholders, leaders and healthcare professionals attending the launch symposium.

9. Sexual violence in Liverpool bars and clubs to be tackled by campaign

   A campaign to reduce sexual violence in bars and clubs across Liverpool City Centre has been launched today in partnership with LJMU.

10. #IDPD2019 - new development opportunities for staff

    LJMU to launch new Mental Health Awareness development opportunities for all staff in January 2020.
