2. Pair appointed to Board of Governors

   Two academic staff colleagues have been appointed to serve on the Board of Governors.

3. Mind the GaP!

   Time is rapidly running out for Principal Investigators to be trained on the new Grants and Projects (GaP) system. It has been agreed by the University that any bids for external funding (research and enterprise activity) from April 2020 will need to be set up by the Principal Investigator on the GaP system, so its important that you book onto training ASAP.

   Researchers Amy Whitehead and Dan Owens use sport science to benefit amateur cycling enthusiasts

   Two new policies will support teaching staff in their development through peer exchange and direct observation.

7. Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy update

   The Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy (RPEL) has been updated to incorporate requirements for RPEL assessment for Apprenticeship programmes, and to reflect changes to governance related to RPEL.

8. LJMU partnering in major police fatigue study

   The National Police Wellbeing Service has been awarded funding to conduct a study of their sleep fatigue and recovery biometrics programme in partnership with LJMU.

9. LJMU and Unite Students host inaugural 'Living Black at University' symposium

   A 'research into action symposium' has been held at LJMU. The event, organised by LJMU Associate Deans: Diversity and Inclusion, explored and shared the experiences of Black students at university and discussed how to turn the research into positive action.
