1. eDoc - A new postgraduate online progression system

   eDocs launch coincided with the centenary of the PhD qualification in the UK

2. Dance soiree to explore ‘Growing Old in the Soviet Union’

   Participants are invited to watch a 30-minute dance following the life trajectory of two Soviet citizens and then to give views about ageing and older people as part of an LJMU History and Wellcome Trust project.

3. New website enhancements

   From today, you will see changes to the main megamenu navigation bar and footer at the top and bottom of each webpage and the main banner image on the homepage.

4. Don't Panic: Support available at Exam and Assessment time.

   LJMU and John Moores Students' Union (JMSU) are offering a range of support during April and May to help students stay positive and focused during the upcoming assessment period.

5. Mind the GaP!

   Time is rapidly running out for Principal Investigators to be trained on the new Grants and Projects (GaP) system. It has been agreed by the University that any bids for external funding (research and enterprise activity) from April 2020 will need to be set up by the Principal Investigator on the GaP system, so its important that you book onto training ASAP.

6. Registration open for conference on decolonial approaches to teaching and research

   A mini-conference highlighting developments in decolonial approaches to teaching and research across the university featuring three sessions of talks and discussion on decolonising pedagogy, assessment and research methods, will take place in November.

7. Brick making technology using construction wastes wins UKRI circular economy fund

   Civil engineers from Liverpool John Moores University have created a range of low carbon novel high performing, construction materials from waste materials

8. Leading banker and philanthropist John Studzinski CBE delivers latest Roscoe lecture

   The investment banker and philanthropist gave an inspirational lecture as part of the Roscoe series delivered in partnership with the PH Holt Foundation.

   To mark the day, Marie Hie, JMSU's Black and Asian Minority Ethic Student Officer, talks about LJMU's reciprocal mentoring scheme and how we can all contribute to reducing inequalities
