1. ICC Head of Research invited to join AHRC Peer Review College 2020-23

   Following a competitive nomination process, LJMU's Kerry Wilson has been invited by the Arts and Humanities Research Council to join its academic Peer Review College.

2. Project Harpocrates scholarship for police staff seeking a career in covert investigations and intelligence

   The police staff, drawn from Nottinghamshire Police, West Midlands Police and British Transport Police, secured the scholarship opportunity under an initiative known as Project Harpocrates. The project seeks to support law enforcement efforts to recruit and retain staff in the highly specialist area of covert operations and specialist intelligence.  Whilst the project was open to all officers one of the specific aims of the project is to increase the representation of  Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff (BAME)  in this challenging and exciting area of investigation and intelligence management.

   Wildlife experts have revealed a new artificial intelligence system at Knowsley Safari to help protect endangered species from poachers.

   We have received the sad news that our former Energy and Environment Manager Bob Steventon passed away earlier this week.

6. LJMU announces Honorary Fellowships for July Graduation

   The prestigious titles are awarded to those who have made an outstanding contribution to society, or an outstanding achievement by an individual in a given field, resonating with the ethos and values of the university and the city of Liverpool.

7. Civil engineers offer solution to Bangladesh's toxic construction industry

   A NOVEL brick made from industrial waste has the potential to make a positive environmental impact and create 'clean jobs' in Bangladesh and elsewhere.

8. Summer estates work programme

   A programme of improvement works to our estate is taking place over the summer months.

9. Improvement works at John Foster Building

   Next month (June 2022), we will begin a programme of improvement works to John Foster Building, which means it will be closed for a period over the summer.

10. In memoriam: Aldham Robarts

    The LJMU community is deeply saddened by the death of Aldham Robarts, an Honorary Fellow, trustee and passionate supporter of the university.
