1. Athena SWAN success for School of Sport and Exercise Sciences

   The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences has been successful in its application for Athena SWAN Bronze Award.

2. LJMU filmmaker to screen international award-winning film

   An international award winning film made Dr Michael Brown (Liverpool Screen School) is being screened live online, with a panel discussion about the filmmaking process and the issues raised in the film.

   We have a new team in place to help support any member of staff with their mental wellbeing. The LJMU Connectors are on hand to provide peer support and make sure colleagues have access to the appropriate resources and services.

4. Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences awards 2023 research grant to LJMU academic

   Dr Nick Dawnay from the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences has been awarded a £10K in support of a project looking to develop eDNA methods to support wildlife forensic investigations.

5. Joint staff and student project wins digital privacy award

   LJMU has won an award at the PICCASO Privacy Awards Europe 2023 for a Privacy and Digital Security project created by staff and students.

6. Metro Mayor becomes first LJMU Alumni Ambassador Fellow

   The Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, Steve Rotheram, has become the first Alumni Ambassador Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University.

8. New Associate Deans for Diversity and Inclusion appointed

   LJMU has appointed six Associate Deans for Diversity and Inclusion (ADDI), representing each of the five faculties and professional services, to support the university in driving forward the diversity and inclusion agenda.

9. In memoriam Dr Alistair Beere

   Dr Alistair Beere passed away at the end of August and his funeral arrangements have been shared by his family.
