1. Vice-Chancellor receives Maritime Ambassadors Award

   LJMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Nigel Weatherill has been recognised by Mersey Maritime for his commitment to securing the future of the Liverpool City Region Maritime Sector.

2. Funding boost to progress mass finishing technologies

   A £330,000 funding boost will help researchers at Liverpool John Moores University progress their work on pioneering improvements in mass finishing technologies, the use of which is expanding rapidly across a range of sectors including aerospace, autosports, automotive, pharmaceutical, medical device, tool making and general engineering.

3. Faculty of Health sets out its ambitions

   Offering an outstanding student experience, carrying out world-leading research and working with partners to tackle health inequalities are the focus for our Faculty of Health. The faculty hosted a relaunch event this week to showcase its state-of-the-art new facilities and set out its ambitions for the coming years.

4. Pandemics and public health: have we found our new normal? - Conan Leavey and Graeme Mitchell, Public Health Institute, LJMU

   It was only a relatively short time ago - in March this year - that the World Health Organisation declared Covid-19 a pandemic. We know now that it is likely to be many, many months before the UK pronounces its outbreak over; and certainly years before it is over globally.
