1. LJMU sport and gym memberships 2025

   LJMU sport and gym memberships have decreased for the remainder of 2025 with discounted prices from £20 for students and £35 for staff and alumni.

2. Majority of April and May exams to be held online

   Most exams in April and May 2022 will be held online. There are a small number of examinations which will be held in-person due to specific requirements of the professional body.

5. Forensic scientists versus psychic detectives

   In addition to his academic work as Principal Lecturer in Forensic Anthropology, and forensic duties as an expert witness, Dr Matteo Borrini of the School of Natural Sciences and Psychology, debunks psychics who attempt to be involved in forensic investigations, and has learnt the art of magic to help decode their strategies.

6. New support for staff development

   The university will shortly be introducing a new system to support you in recording and tracking performance and development conversations.

7. New library services website launched

   The LJMU Library website has had a major refresh over summer and has launched this week ready for the new academic year.

8. LJMU relations with Nepal strengthened after researchers meet with President

   Researchers from LJMU have met with the President of Nepal, the Right honourable Bidhya Devi Bhandari, to discuss issues relating to education, gender, women's rights and social justice. Dr Sara Parker from Sociology, School of Humanities and Social Science and Rose Khatri from the Centre for Public Health recently met with the President and spoke for almost two hours.

9. LJMU wins bid to host international sports science conference

   Liverpool John Moores University has won a bid to host a prestigious international sports science conference in 2020.

10. LJMU welcomes former Chief Constable as new lecturer in policing and leadership

    LJMU has welcomed former Lancashire Constabulary Chief Constable Steve Finnigan CBE to teach the next generation of police leaders, at the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies.
