1. Celebrating Black History Month

   For this year's Black History Month celebrations, LJMU is involved in a range of events.

2. Art and Science Exchange

   On Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th August 2019, the MA Art in Science programme at Liverpool School of Art and Design hosted an Art & Science Exchange workshop with members of the Biochemical Society. The exchange was held at the John Lennon Art and Design Building, in the Public Exhibition Space and X-Gallery amongst the MA Art in Science student's end of programme postgraduate exhibition, which showcases the outcomes of their three month research projects. These projects served as a basis for investigation of specific art-science interactions, and were supported by open discussions, hands on activities and a Liverpool LASER talk.

3. Masters students show work at Art and Design degree show

   A weeklong celebration of work from graduating postgraduate students has opened at the School of Art and Design.

4. LJMU receives Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence and National Teaching Fellowship

   LJMU is one of 15 teams to win the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) and an LJMU academic has also been awarded one of 54 National Teaching Fellows (NTF). Dr Philip Denton, Principal Lecturer at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, is the recipient of the NTF and the paramedic team at LJMU’s Schools of Nursing and Allied Health received the CATE.

5. Special Collections and Archives on the BBC

   The Library's 19th century periodicals collection will be featured in an episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip on Thursday 24th January. Presenter Martel Maxwell and expert James Braxton talked to Professor Brian Maidment before heading over to the School of Art & Design to be sketched by two graphic design students.

6. Honorary Fellowships and Corporate Awards

   Nominations are now invited for individuals and organisations to be considered for Honorary Fellowships and Awards.

7. A love poem to Liverpool

   At LJMU we’re excited to celebrate our contributions to the poetical world.

8. Exhibition Research Lab presents: Printed Matter

   Printed Matter is a series of inter-connected exhibitions that reflect the collaborative nature and global reach of printmaking, compiled and curated by Hannah Fray, Paul Davidson and Neil Morris, Printmaking staff at LJMU’s School of Art and Design.

9. Recognition for China engagement strategy

   LJMU was runner-up in the Education Links Category at the Greater China Awards, awarded by the Department for International Trade (DIT) North West recently.

10. Exhibition of composite images reveals faces of 19th and 21st Century crime

    The difference between the fates of ordinary people and criminals is ‘paper thin’, as demonstrated by a new exhibition of composite facial images of 19th Century and 21st Century criminals.
