1. LJMU policy updates December

   New policy on sustainable food systems and changes to the environmental, energy and sustainability management statement.

2. New humanities and social sciences research centre

   The Liverpool Centre for Cultural, Social and Political Research (CSPR) has been established to bring together expertise around humanities and social sciences to drive forward the impact of their work.

3. Launch of Liverpool Centre for Olympic Research on Inclusion

   LJMU has launched the first worldwide Liverpool Centre for Olympic Research focussing on Inclusion ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

4. Apprenticeships and Student Governance policy updates

   The new Apprenticeships Policy has received Academic Board approval and 20 Student Governance policies, guidance and pro forma have recently been reviewed, and have received minor amendments.

5. Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy update

   The Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning Policy (RPEL) has been updated to incorporate requirements for RPEL assessment for Apprenticeship programmes, and to reflect changes to governance related to RPEL.

6. New Diversity and Inclusion Policy

   The D&I Team has developed the Transgender and Non-Binary Policy for staff and students, with accompanying guidance.

7. New Policy - Data Sharing with Law Enforcement Agencies

   The Policy Centre has been updated with a new policy

8. Global Centre for Maritime Innovation

   Liverpool John Moores University is to bring together its world-leading maritime education, research and innovation through a new global centre.

9. Make a difference for The Whitechapel Centre

   For the last two years we have been involved in the Whitechapel Christmas Appeal and thanks to you all donating an amazing amount of gifts, you helped make Christmas special for The Whitechapel Centre clients. We are delighted to be supporting the initiative again and hope that you're are all feeling as generous as in previous years.

10. Updated Assessment and Feedback Policy

    The policy has been updated with two new areas of activity on internal moderation and the use of generative AI (GenAI) in assessment.
