3. LJMU and Unite Students host inaugural 'Living Black at University' symposium

   A 'research into action symposium' has been held at LJMU. The event, organised by LJMU Associate Deans: Diversity and Inclusion, explored and shared the experiences of Black students at university and discussed how to turn the research into positive action.

4. Fancy a Pint of Science?

   Academics and postgraduate students from across LJMU are set to share their research as part of the Pint of Science festival.

5. Journalism programmes receive NCTJ award for equality, diversity and inclusion

   The award recognises LJMU’s work on diversity and inclusion including the creation of a Diversity Reporting Guide and a planned Diversity in Journalism Teaching symposium.

6. Pensions and financial planning support for staff

   A series of support and information sessions will be available to LJMU staff over the coming weeks to find out more about pensions and financial planning.

7. Aspiring Leaders from BAME Communities Informal Networking Event

   On Thursday 14th November 2019  (12.30pm  – 3.30pm), Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) will host a BAME into Leadership network event in partnership with BME Leadership Network (BLN) and Parrett Laver a recruitment company that assist HEIs with recruiting top level positions.

8. LJMU Religion & Belief Workshops “Understanding religious diversity of our students and staff community”

   LJMUs Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Team, are proud to be working in partnership with Zia Chaudhry (Director of LJMU Foundation for Citizenship), Zane Abdo (LJMU Muslim Adviser/Chaplin), Rabbi Natan Fagleman (LJMU Jewish Chaplain), Hannah Padfield (LJMU Anglican Chaplain), Father Neil Ritchie (LJMU Catholic Chapain) and other external consultants in order to offer LJMU Staff (& Students*), the opportunity to participate in a bespoke, half day Religion & Belief workshop.

9. International learning experience at Virtual Global Citizens Conference 2020

   Delegates from all round the world participated in the LJMU Virtual Global Citizens Conference between 11-12 November 2020. They discussed seven adapted UN Sustainable Development Goals.

10. Cocoa drinks can boost exercise resistance in middle age

    Scientists in Liverpool have found that cocoa can increase oxygen uptake and make exercising easier for more sedentary people.
